Holy Moley, it has been a few months since my last blog, please forgive me! I've been super busy running around with my baby Gabe, watching him grow bigger by the minute. My decision to stay home for a while has been the best ever; I can't say its all been cookies and candy because it has been hard, but so fulfilling to have become the number one go to person for my baby. He clings to me worse than staticky socks and I love it! (except when I really need to go pee)
Here he is talking to me in his new language that he came up with on 12/1/07. It sounds a bit like pig-latin but I am sure our naive adult minds just aren't understanding his clear words full of expression and discovery. I love you my sweat Gabe!

Open Wide...coming in for a landing!

Airplane Spoon! I originally saw this in one of the Baby Einstein videos and I loved it. My little one is a bit old for this now but how much fun it could be. The plastic plane slips off so it's easy to clean and the spoon is stainless steel. I recently saw this at the Spoon Sisters website and oh my! the price isn't that bad either since it will be worth the fun during feedings.

Park-A-Licious Park!

Park-A-What? Norridge Park that is! I love this park and well so does my little boy. He goes there everyday with his Grandma and has a blast-off of a good time! I wrote a review about it on Parentography.com so that I can tell as many parents about it. In my opinion there should be more playgrounds like this one around. I live in the city but find myself coming to this one because there aren't other ones that I can compare this one to and the ones in the city well, let's just say they aren't as nice, new or as safe as I believe this one to be. Can you say "Play-date" location?

C is for Cat, and P is for Peek-A-Boo. Ever wanted to get the ABC's on you baby's onesie or T-Shirt? I'll be adding more images soon, all baby related items of course. Because all GR8Mommies go GooGoo-GaGa for all things baby! http://www.cafepress.com/GooGoo_Gaga

The Toy's from our childhood

Oh wow! Toys have surely changed over the last few decades. Most of the toys now require a battery for a blinking light, a singing frog or for a piano key or two to make a sound. Things were so much simpler back then. Yes, I know that there are people that say they teach our kids- and yes they do to some extent but I think the imagination is the best teacher there is besides a mommy sitting down and playing with our kiddies. Any-hoo-hoo, here is a site: This Old Toy that will take you back into your childhood and reminisce about which Fisher Price toys you had fun with. Have fun all over Again!

Wooden't you know...

Let me tell ya, I am IN LOVE with all the wooden toys out there! I am such a sucker I have to buy them ALL! Well if I had the $$ then I would but oh wow! Here is something quite unique that I hadn't seen before. They are Wooden Books and I found it at a site called Monkey Bean Toys. This is such a cool toy and so different. Yeah, you have the plushy books the board books the waterproof books etc., but I just love the vibrancy and artistic touch to these books. I was browsing the other toys on this site and thank goodness they have a nice shipping rate because I think I am going Birthday/X-Mas shopping!

Funtastic Toy

Here is a toy that has been out for quite some time now but I feel like bragging about it anyway. It is made by the Parents Magazine line of toys and might I say I do love all their toys, or should I say my son loves all their toys! It is the Busy Zoo Activity Center and although it is listed for 12months+ my son has been playing with it since he was 8months. Whether he was sitting around or standing up assisted he was obsessed in only wanting to play with this toy. He loves the Bead Mazes-and thus they also provided a little place to hold onto while he was standing up and playing with the other hand. The one thing he's always done is place other toys, shoes, pacifiers, bottles in between the mazes and then attempt to take them out-kinda like his own little spacial-relationship puzzle he made. I recommend this toy for its fun colors, well thought out activities and for the endless hours of joyful playtime with my baby boy.

Pool fun!

So on my vacation when I went snorkeling, I had to buy those toss-able underwater cameras and boy were they expensive considering how many pics I took of THE SAME FISH! (It was totally artistic I thought). Well any-hoo-hoo here is something that I will be buying before my next trip and would still be nice before summer ends. It's a digital underwater camera made by Vivitar and wouldn't you know where I saw it at? Yes, at Target where else...and not to mention they have it at a nice reduced price! It's a 6MP camera and also takes video! A must for pool parties with all the kiddies floating and diving around. Imagine the possibilities of your snorkel fishy and all the bubbles and the sun and colorful pool toys. Oh, and no worries if it gets wet or dropped in the pool-because its waterproof up to 30ft. (And the toilet for that matter, if you kiddie is in the dunking stage).

Kitchen Fun!

So I was wandering the aisles of Target as I do on a weekly ritual. (I am addicted to the whole Target genre; can I mention that each visit I am there I am the $100 dollar spender-shopper (cha-ching)... I can't help it!).

So anyway, here are some super cool and fun new gadgets made by the Boston Warehouse. It is their "Animal House Kitchen Tools" line and Oh my they are cute. I found them at Target but if you want to see where else in your area they are sold then click here and enter you info. They are at a reasonable cost per item and don't you think that peeling a potato with the monkey-peeler will be more fun and worth the extra bucks? I bet all the kids will be lined up to play kitchen now!

Magically Intriguing

Yes, I know that this toy came out last year but I do have to give it some love and brag about it now. My friends all own one thanks to my raves about it and all their kids LOVE it. My son has loved it and been intrigued by it ever since he was like 3months old. He would stare at the TV as though he was staring at his food source. It's made by Tiny Love and is the DVD MagiQ system that comes with a super cuddly-wuddly animal (Active Pal) that interacts with the DVD. The sheep and dog are for the 3-12months series and the little cow comes in the 12-36month series, but nonetheless they all work on either of them. Oh, and it also comes with a CD for the car too and if you bring the Active Pal animal it will also interact as well.

I recommend it to all the Gr8Mommies out there. They just came out with new packaging I noticed so you may be lucky to find one on Clearance somewhere.

Puzzle-i-cious

Here is a fun way to decorate any kids room or the whole house for that matter. It's a wooden floor but it's put together like a big puzzle- it kinda would make me feel like a kid again putting a big jigsaw puzzle together. I found this at PuzzleFloor and you can even design your own room here. The price isn't so bad considering the countless hours of admiration all your neighbors kids will have each time they come over.

It's all coming together...

I added some links, my logo and re-arranged it a bit. What do you guys think? Is anyone out there? Is this mic on? LOL -yes I know I am a dork!

I am scared! I will soon find myself to be a SAHM due to my job being "reduced." I will be "Neatly packed with bubble wrap and stuffed into a dark box and then tossed about like a football on many conveyor belts-boarded on a plane, then maybe a ship and then a truck and finally into the hands of a cheaper-paid worker in an overseas Island."

I believe this to be a blessing in disguise. I will be forced to encounter new endeavors, adventures and move away from this comfort zone I have occupied for the past decade+some years. I will spend time with my baby and enjoy it as much as I can. I will hopefully figure out what really interests me and then dive into it headfirst even though my gut just read the sign that clearly stated "No diving at this point."

I hereby bid myself a Good-Luck pat on my back.
